Location & Schedule

  • Location: Remote
  • Schedule: Full-time availability aligned with US Pacific/Central business hours, with flexibility to oversee global team operations as required by a fast-growing startup environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • US Compliance & Contract Architecture: Draft, review, approve, and finalize legally compliant US employment contracts, contract amendments, NDAs, and independent contractor agreements, ensuring total alignment with Federal and state labor laws.
  • Recruitment Oversight & Hiring Decisions: Review and approve Recruitment Intake Forms, authorize final job ads, conduct final interview rounds, and make final hiring decisions in close collaboration with department leads while monitoring pipeline KPIs.
  • Payroll & Compensation Authorization: Review and authorize monthly global and domestic payroll, performance bonuses, and overtime requests via platforms like Deel and internal Master Payment Spreadsheets, resolving any escalations or disputes seamlessly.
  • Documentation & Internal Audits: Lead internal audits to ensure all global employee files, promotion records, and compliance documentation are stored and formatted perfectly. Approve and continuously update company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Performance Management & Culture: Oversee Annual and Mid-Year Performance Review cycles, finalize evaluation templates, review criteria, and support leadership in aligning departmental OKRs with individual employee goals.
  • Tools & Access Management: Approve, manage, and audit team access to essential HR tools, platforms, and subscriptions, ensuring strict data security and platform cost-efficiency.

Who We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Employment Law, or a closely related professional field.
  • Employment Law Mastery (Mandatory): Deep, up-to-date, operational knowledge of labor codes, state-specific payroll/wage regulations, compliance mandates, and contractor classifications. This is a non-negotiable requirement.
  • Proven Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of professional HR Management experience, preferably within a fast-paced tech startup, media production house, or high-growth agency environment.
  • Elite Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills, with a proven ability to handle delicate employee relations and legal matters with absolute confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Technical Hardware & Workspace Setup: A highly secure, reliable remote office setup with high-speed internet and stable power infrastructure to support seamless video interviewing and data-sensitive operations.

Preferred / Major Plus:

  • Professional Certification: Highly value active HR certifications such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
  • Modern Payroll Stacks: Direct experience managing and processing international and domestic teams through modern global payroll platforms like Deel.
  • Collaboration Tools: Familiarity with remote productivity, tracking, and collaboration stacks (Google Workspace, Slack, Discord, Asana, Notion).
