A well-established textile manufacturing company based in Paarl is seeking a versatile and hands-on Human Resources Generalist to support and drive HR functions across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in workforce planning, recruitment, training and development, policy formulation, payroll administration, and employee relations.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Planning & Analytics: Conduct workforce planning and forecasting; analyze staffing needs and support departments with strategic manpower decisions.
Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and exit processes to ensure a smooth employee lifecycle.
Training & Development: Identify skills gaps, coordinate training initiatives, and assess training outcomes to enhance employee capability.
Performance Management: Assist in setting performance goals, coordinating appraisals, and implementing performance improvement plans.
Policy & Procedure Development: Draft, update, and implement HR policies and procedures that align with labor legislation and industry best practices.
Payroll Administration: Maintain accurate payroll and employee data, liaise with payroll providers, and ensure statutory compliance.
Employee Relations & Engagement: Address grievances, promote employee well-being, and support engagement programs across the organization.
Industrial Relations: Oversee disciplinary processes, support union interactions, and manage IR matters in a manufacturing environment.
HR Systems & Administration: Manage HRIS updates, maintain employee records, and produce reports for audits and compliance.
Compliance & OHS: Ensure compliance with labor laws and health & safety regulations, manage IOD reporting, and support workplace investigations.
Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Human Resources or related field
Minimum 3 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of South African labor law and HR best practices
Proficient in HRIS and payroll systems
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
