Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership and Business Partnering
- Partner closely with the Board and executive leadership team to design and execute people strategies that support operational excellence and workforce planning
- Translate business objectives into effective HR programs, managing HR budgets, headcount, and organisational development
- Act as a trusted advisor to departmental managers and site leaders on all human capital matters
Talent Acquisition, Development and Retention
- Lead talent acquisition initiatives to attract top engineering, technical, and corporate talent within the competitive energy landscape
- Develop global and local talent pipelines, succession planning strategies, and career development frameworks
Labour Relations and Compliance
- Ensure absolute compliance with all relevant South African legislation
- Oversee complex industrial relations (IR) matters, including union negotiations, dispute resolution, and CCMA representations
- Drive Employment Equity (EE) data management and champion equity and diversity planning, including the execution of the company’s B-BBEE plan
Performance Management and Rewards
- Inculcate a robust performance management culture linked to productivity, development, and reward structures
- Oversee payroll inputs, compensation and benefits administration, and remuneration benchmarking to ensure market competitiveness
HR Operations and Employee Engagement
- Foster a unified, inclusive organisational culture that prioritises safety, well-being, and high performance
- Maintain accurate HR information systems (HRIS) and leverage HR data analytics to provide actionable insights to the executive team
- Oversee site-specific HR logistics for remote project teams, ensuring smooth onboarding, offboarding, and local personnel administration
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or BTech in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related Business Science field. (A postgraduate degree or MBA is highly advantageous)
- Experience: Minimum of 7–10 years of HR experience, with at least 3–5 years functioning at a senior management or executive level
- Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in the engineering, mining, manufacturing, energy, and renewable energy sectors is strongly preferred
- Legal Expertise: Solid, demonstrable understanding of South African labour legislation, industrial relations, and statutory reporting requirements (EE, Skills Development, B-BBEE)
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern HR Management Systems and payroll platforms
