Job Purpose:
To lead and manage the end-to-end HR operations function, ensuring efficient service delivery, compliance, and strategic alignment with business goals. This role is responsible for overseeing HR administration, guiding HR Officers, and implementing key HR initiatives across talent management, workforce planning, learning and development, performance management, wellness, and employee relations. The incumbent will act as a trusted advisor to the business, ensuring legal compliance, fostering a high-performance culture, and driving employee engagement and retention strategies, with a strong focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Required Skills:

HR Service Delivery / Operations

Monthly HR Reporting

Operational implementation of HR projects and procedures

Oversee HR administration ensuring accuracy

Manage outsourced functions & consultants

Ensure maintenance of documentation and records

Talent Management

Compile, implement and monitor succession plans

Compile annual EE report for approval & submission

Monitor & report EE plan progress

HR Risk / Compliance

Ensure labour compliance with Dpt of Labour and MIBCO

Ensure all HR Policies and Procedures are updated/maintained

Maintain own knowledge of relevant legislation

Workforce Planning

Job Profiling & salary benchmarking

Manage the recruitment & selection process

Maintain company organisational charts

Oversee onboarding and termination processes and administration

Implement retention and engagement strategies

Learning & Development

Compile annual workplace skills plan for approval & submission

Provide training on HR-related topics (time & attendance / performance management / IR)

Develop HR-related training content

Conduct quarterly competency assessments

Performance Management

Ensure performance reviews are conducted by all departments quarterly

Review conducted appraisals to ensure consistency and fairness

Compile consolidated reports of performance data and recommend improvements

Ensure a culture of performance is entrenched

Wellness

Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety

Manage the process for employees with chronic illnesses

Be a trusted advisor to the business and employees

Manage work opportunities for employees with disabilities

Employment Relations

Hands-on Industrial relations (compile warnings / advice line managers / initiate disciplinary enquiries / represent at MIBCO DRC / manage grievances)

Schedule and document Employee Consultation Forum meetings

Required Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

Registration with the SA Board of People Practices (highly advantageous)

10 years + HR experience – 5 of which should be in a senior / supervisory role

Motor Industry experience advantageous
