We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR & Labour Representative to support the day-to-day delivery of HR operations while ensuring full compliance with South African labour legislation and internal company policies.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted point of contact for employees and management on all HR and labour-related matters, managing the employee lifecycle from onboarding through to employee relations, disciplinary processes, and offboarding. This role requires someone who is highly organised, solutions-driven, and confident in handling sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Human Resources Administration
- Manage the full employee lifecycle
- Prepare employment contracts, amendments, offer letters and HR documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems.
- Ensure all employee documentation is compliant and up to date.
- Monitor probation periods
- Administer leave, attendance and employee records.
Employee Relations & Labour
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and labour legislation.
- Manage disciplinary processes, investigations and grievance procedures.
- Draft disciplinary notices, warnings and hearing documentation.
- Coordinate disciplinary and incapacity hearings.
- Support performance management processes.
- Advise management on labour risks and best practice.
- Liaise with external labour consultants where required.
- Prepare documentation for CCMA referrals and labour disputes.
- Ensure compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Employment Equity Act (EEA) and other relevant legislation.
Recruitment
- Conduct reference and background checks.
- Prepare offers of employment.
- Coordinate new starter documentation.
HR Compliance
- Ensure compliance with company policies and employment legislation.
- Maintain POPIA compliance relating to employee records.
- Assist with Employment Equity reporting where applicable.
- Support audits and compliance reviews.
- Maintain HR policies and procedures.
- Monitor expiry dates for work permits, certifications and contracts.
Payroll Support
- Prepare payroll input including:
- Leave records
- Overtime
- Allowances
- Salary adjustments
- New starters
- Terminations
- Work closely with Payroll to ensure accurate monthly processing.
- Resolve payroll-related employee queries.
Employee Engagement
- Support employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Assist with internal communications.
- Coordinate employee recognition initiatives.
- Promote a positive workplace culture.
Reporting
Prepare regular HR reports including:
- Headcount
- Recruitment status
- Staff turnover
- Leave balances
- Probation status
- Disciplinary matters
- Training records
- HR compliance metrics
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Human Resources.
- Experience managing employee relations and labour matters.
- Sound knowledge of South African labour legislation.
- Experience coordinating disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Strong HR administration experience.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- High level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Labour Knowledge:
Working knowledge of:
- Labour Relations Act (LRA)
- Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
- Employment Equity Act (EEA)
- Skills Development Act (SDA)
- Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)
Desirable Experience:
- HR qualification (Diploma or Degree).
- Experience within an Employer of Record (EOR), recruitment agency, or professional services environment.
- Experience supporting UK-based or international businesses.
- Knowledge of CCMA processes.
- Payroll administration experience.

Pay: R25 000,00 – R30 000,00 per month
