HR and Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented HR and Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end HR operations and oversee accurate payroll processing. In this role, you will support the streamlining of employee administrative processes, ensure compliance, and maintain smooth day-to-day HR systems to support our growing team.

Main responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding Support:

  • Coordinate end-to-end recruitment activities including job postings, screening, interviews, and offers;
  • Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires;
  • Maintain recruitment records and applicant tracking systems;

Employee Relations:

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and workplace conflicts
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work culture

Performance & Development:

  • Preparation of performance plans and implementation of performance evaluation
  • Support the Preparation of training plans and implementation of training activities
  • Track training records and employee progress

Compliance & Policies:

  • Support the implementation and communication of HR policies
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and HR best practices

Payroll & SARS Statutory Compliance:

  • Payroll Execution: Process monthly salaries, adjustments, bonuses, and benefit deductions accurately.
  • EMP201/5 Submissions: Calculate, reconcile, and submit monthly returns (PAYE, UIF, SDL) via SARS eFiling by the 7th.
  • EMP501 Reconciliations: Lead bi-annual and annual EMP501 reconciliations using e@syFile and SARS eFiling.
  • IRP5/IT3(a) Certificates: Generate and issue accurate annual tax certificates to all employees.
  • UIF & COIDA Compliance: Submit monthly UI-19 forms to the Department of Employment & Labour and assist with annual COIDA Return of Earnings.
  • Tax Registrations: Manage employee tax number registrations (ITREG) and address SARS-related payroll queries.
  • Other tasks as requested by Manager

Requirements:

Major in human resource management, administrative management etc., and familiar with South African labor law

English can be used as a working language, proficiency in Chinese is an advantage

3–5 years of relevant experience in Human Resources; experience in the OEM industry is an advantage

Strong Payroll Administration and Payroll software experience

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

Problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
