JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Purpose of the role

The HR Officer – Performance Management will support the Group Human Resources function with the implementation,

coordination and administration of the organisation’s performance management framework.

The primary focus of this role will be the development, maintenance, tracking and administration of employee Key

Performance Areas (KPA’s), Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), performance scorecards and performance review processes

across the group of companies.

The successful candidate will work closely with managers and employees to ensure that performance objectives are clearly

defined, measurable, aligned with business goals and effectively monitored.

Key Responsibilities:

1. KPA & KPI Management

  • Assist with the development and review of KPA’s and KPI’s for all positions across the group.
  • Ensure job roles have clearly defined and measurable performance objectives.
  • Support managers in translating job responsibilities into meaningful KPA’s and KPI’s.
  • Analyse KPI results and identify performance trends.
  • Develop performance reports and KPI dashboards for management review.
  • Ensure accurate interpretation and application of KPI results.
  • Maintain and update employee performance scorecards.
  • Monitor alignment between departmental objectives and individual employee KPI’s.
  • Identify gaps or inconsistencies in performance measurements and escalate where required.

2. Performance Management Administration

  • Coordinate performance review cycles across all companies within the group.
  • Ensure performance assessments are completed accurately and within required timelines. Maintain performance management records and documentation.
  • Prepare performance reports and status updates for HR and management.
  • Track completion of performance reviews and KPI submissions.
  • Provide administrative support during performance discussions and reviews.

3. HR Administration Support:

  • Maintain accurate employee records relating to performance management.
  • Assist with HR reporting and analytics.
  • Support HR projects and initiatives as required.
  • Ensure HR processes and documentation are consistently applied across the group.
  • Assist with HR admin as and when needed including BEE. Leave administration etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience

  • Matric (Grade 12) – essential
  • Relevant qualification in Business Management / Organisational Development / Performance Management (advantageous).
  • Relevant HR administration qualification or experience
  • Minimum 2–4 years’ relevant KPA / KPI experience
  • Previous experience in performance management administration is essential.
  • Experience developing, reviewing or maintaining KPA’s and KPI’s.
  • Experience working with employee performance reviews and scorecards.
  • Experience supporting managers with HR processes.
  • Proven experience developing KPA’s and KPI’s across multiple job levels and departments.
  • Experience implementing structured performance management systems.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Technical Skills

  • Advanced understanding of KPI methodologies and performance measurement principles.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Ability to develop measurable performance frameworks.
  • Excellent documentation and process design abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
