Position: Housekeeping Manager (Winelands) Permanent
Are you a hands-on housekeeping leader who takes pride in spotless lodges and a well-run team? We’re recruiting on behalf of a hospitality establishment looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to keep their guest lodges, public areas, and laundry running like clockwork.
What you’ll need:
- Grade 12
- 2–3 years’ housekeeping management experience (or similar) within hospitality is preferred
- A natural ability to lead, coordinate, and motivate a team
- Strong communication skills
- Self-discipline and a good eye for detail
- A hands-on, lead-by-example approach
What you’ll be doing:
- Overseeing the day-to-day running of the housekeeping department in line with company standards
- Conducting regular inspections of laundry, public areas, and lodges
- Managing, supporting, and guiding housekeeping staff
- Briefing the team at the start of each shift on duties and departmental updates
- Setting the standard for appearance, hygiene, and professionalism in uniform and conduct
- Making sure guest lodges and public areas are always guest-ready — clean, hygienic, and well-presented
- Reporting maintenance and repair issues and following up to ensure they’re actioned
- Coaching and training staff on the job to keep skills sharp
- Keeping a positive, courteous, and professional attitude at all times
- Anticipating and responding to guest needs quickly and efficiently
- Resolving guest complaints promptly and escalating where needed
- Conducting monthly stock takes and keeping accurate linen and consumable stock records
- Flagging any policy breaches to senior management
- Following reasonable instructions from management
