Introduction

A prestigious luxury safari lodge situated in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Nature Reserve, bordering the iconic Kruger National Park, is seeking an experienced Housekeeping & Laundry Manager to join its dedicated team. Catering primarily to an international clientele from the UK and USA, the lodge is committed to delivering exceptional five-star guest experiences through impeccable service, attention to detail, and world-class hospitality standards.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a passionate and hands-on hospitality professional with extensive experience in luxury housekeeping operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all housekeeping and laundry functions, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and guest satisfaction across guest suites, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and laundry operations.

As a key member of the management team, the Housekeeping & Laundry Manager will lead and motivate a team of approximately 20 housekeeping staff, while maintaining operational efficiency through effective scheduling, stock control, budgeting, training, and performance management. The role requires exceptional leadership abilities, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a remote bush environment.

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5 years’ experience in luxury hospitality housekeeping.
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a housekeeping department within a five-star lodge.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet applications.
Essential experience with HMS Infor and Sage systems.
Proven experience in inventory management and cost control.
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver and maintain exceptional five-star housekeeping standards.
Manage, lead, and schedule a team of approximately 20 housekeeping staff.
Ensure compliance with operational procedures and health and safety regulations.
Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and laundries.
Monitor staff performance and provide ongoing coaching and training.
Manage housekeeping supplies, equipment, and stock levels.
Control departmental budgets and minimise waste.
Coordinate and implement guest special requests.
Review guest feedback and resolve complaints professionally.
Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless lodge operations.

Package

Permanent employment.
Salary: R18,000 – R22,000 per month DOE.
Live-in furnished accommodation.

Additional Benefits

monthly food allowance.
50% company contribution to Medical Aid (after probation).
50% company contribution to Pension Fund (after probation).
Share of guest gratuities upon lodge reopening in 2027
20 complimentary bed nights annually for family and friends (upon reopening in 2027).
Leave cycle: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

Salary: R18,000 – R22,000 DOE
