Purpose For The Job

The HIV/AIDS Officer reports to Chief Child survival and development for supervision. The Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for the HIV programmes/projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results, preparing, executing, managing and implementing a variety of technical and administrative program tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluating and reporting of results.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have…

Minimum Requirements

Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Epidemiology, Public Health, Environmental Science/Health, public health, epidemiology, global health, health policy, health management, biostatistics, health education, pediatrics, environmental health, social medicine and any other related fields.

Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in Health, Pediatric health, family health, health research, global health. international health, health policy, health management, environmental health, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology. and any other related fields.

Skills: HIV/AIDS planning and management in health care, emergency preparedness at the international level and/or in a developing country is required.

Language Requirements: English – Proficient/Fluent

Desirables

  • Language: Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language
  • HIV programme, AIDS programme, UN experience
  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
