Job Advert Summary

El Shaddai Christian School (ESCS) is looking to appoint a qualified and passionate High School ICT Teacher to join its team in a full-time capacity (07:30 – 15:30 daily). The ideal candidate will teach ICT from a Biblical Worldview, preparing students for the Cambridge IGCSE course and foundational digital skills in the Junior High School. The starting date is negotiable, and the role offers long-term growth into teaching the Cambridge AS Level ICT course.

Minimum Requirements

An applicable IT qualification with relevant experience in teaching ICT or IT at High School level.

Ability to teach ICT theory and practical components.

Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is advantageous but not required.

A heart for Christian education and commitment to teaching from a Biblical Worldview.

Confidence in providing basic IT support (e.g. Google Workspace/Adobe account management, group admin, troubleshooting).

Willingness to participate in the High School extra-mural programme.

Commitment to attend weekly staff development meetings and further professional development as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching ICT

Teach a foundational Junior High School ICT course to prepare students for the Cambridge IGCSE programme.

Deliver the Cambridge IGCSE ICT course (Grades 9–10), which includes both theory and practical assessments.

Integrate Biblical principles throughout all teaching.

Plan to expand into teaching Cambridge AS Level ICT in the future, with support and training if needed.

Technical Support

Assist with basic student and staff IT support, including:

Managing Google and Adobe accounts

Supporting group administration

Offering basic troubleshooting

Competitions and Research Support

Encourage and support students in entering Computer Olympiads and other technology-related competitions.

Manage after-hours access to computer rooms for student research and project work.

Professional Development

Full support and training will be provided for teachers transitioning from the WCED/National Curriculum to Cambridge International.

Weekly staff development meetings take place on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Opportunities for further training, including Cambridge ICT certification, are encouraged and supported.

Opportunities

This role has potential for growth into AS Level ICT teaching, as the curriculum expands.

The position could also lead to broader involvement in digital literacy initiatives across the school.

Staff are encouraged to engage with the Cambridge International ICT educator community for resources and collaboration.
