Job Advert Summary
El Shaddai Christian School (ESCS), located in the Northern Suburbs, is seeking a passionate and qualified Art & Design Teacher to join its High School staff from 22 July 2025 (or possibly 1 July 2025, depending on availability). This is a full-time position (07:30 – 15:30 daily), with additional staff development meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons until 16:00.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching the Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level Art & Design curriculum and must be committed to promoting creativity, critical thinking, and excellence within a Biblical worldview.

Minimum Requirements
A relevant qualification in Art (e.g. BA Fine Art) and a PGCE.
Familiarity with or willingness to be trained in the Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level Art & Design curriculum.
Ability to teach across various mediums/multimedia, including fine art, graphic communication, 3D design, and textiles/fashion.
Strong research skills and the ability to guide students in investigating artists, designers, and cultural influences.
A willingness to participate in extra-mural Art clubs and the broader school community.
Commitment to attending weekly staff development meetings and ongoing Cambridge online training.
Alignment with the Christian ethos and mission of the school.
Willingness to be a register teacher.

Duties and Responsibilities
A. Subject Teaching
Teach Cambridge IGCSE (Grades 9–10) and AS Level (Grades 11–12) Art & Design.
Cover a range of areas including:
Painting and related media / fine art
Graphic communication
3D Design
Textile/fashion design
Facilitate research-based learning, encouraging students to investigate artists, design trends, and cultural contexts.
Conduct individual portfolio interviews to provide feedback and direction for student growth.
Attend weekly Art Department meetings and consult with the Academic Head.
Participate in online Cambridge training as required.
B. Extra-Mural Involvement
Assist with at least one High School extra-mural Art club.
C. Professional Development
Attend weekly staff development meetings.
Participate in relevant Cambridge and ACSI training opportunities.
Transition support and training will be offered for those new to the Cambridge curriculum.
D. ESCS Teaching Environment
Enjoy small class sizes and the ability to build strong relationships with students.
