Job Advert Summary

El Shaddai Christian School (ESCS) is seeking a dedicated and qualified Accounting Teacher to join the High School team from 1 July 2025 (or 21 July 2025, the start of Term 3, by negotiation). This is a full-time position (07:30 – 15:30 daily), with mandatory staff development meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons until 16:00.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level Accounting and supporting foundational Accounting principles from Grade 8 upwards, all from a Biblical Worldview perspective.

Minimum Requirements

A recognised qualification in Accounting and a PGCE.

SACE registration is required.

Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and AS Level Accounting is advantageous.

A passion for Christian education and a commitment to integrating Biblical values into teaching.

Willingness to participate in the High School extra-mural programme.

A readiness to attend weekly staff development meetings and engage in Cambridge training when required.

Duties and Responsibilities

A) Senior High School Accounting (Grades 9–12)

Teach and prepare students for the Cambridge IGCSE (Grade 10) and AS Level (Grade 12) examinations.

Deliver lessons with a strong emphasis on Biblical integration and real-world application.

Ensure students are thoroughly equipped for final external assessments.

B) Junior High School Accounting (Grade 8)

Guide the Grade 8 EMS teacher in introducing basic Accounting principles during the second half of the year.

Support curriculum development and alignment with the Cambridge pathway.

C) Olympiads and Competitions

Encourage and assist students in entering competitions such as the JSE Schools Challenge and other Accounting-related events.

Professional Development

Transition support will be offered for teachers coming from the National Senior Certificate (NSC) background.

Regular access to Cambridge training (online and in-person).

Staff are encouraged to explore opportunities such as becoming a Cambridge examiner/marker.
