Job Title: Heidelberg Speedmaster Machine Assistant
Job Summary:
A company based in Springfield Park (Durban) in the Printing Sector are looking for a Machine Assistant to operate and maintain their Heidelberg Speedmaster printing press.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup and operation of multicolour lithographic printing machines, including models with coating units.
Support the main machine operator to ensure smooth, efficient production runs.
Monitor quality of printed materials and report any deviations or issues.
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks on machines.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
Required Abilities:
Attention to detail & accuracy.
Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to listen to instruction and complete printing jobs on time.
Must be reliable – Must be able to work shifts.
Strong communication skills.
Must show initiative and be proactive.
Must be a team player.
Required Skills and Experience:
Minimum 1-2 years’ experience working with multicolour litho printing machines, preferably with coating functionality.
Must reside in or around Springfield Park or surrounding areas (e.g. Newlands, Avoca, Phoenix, Umgeni, etc.).
Own reliable transport is essential due to shift work.
Must be able to rotate between morning and afternoon shifts on a weekly basis.
Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment.
