JOB PURPOSE
The candidate will be responsible to plan, lead, manage and execute on all business operations and projects.
To be able to provide strategic background and skill, whilst ensuring we execute audits, investigations, Incident management within the bounds of the HSE Team
Compliance and Reporting:
Support business in the HSE Policy and Guidelines issue.
Supports Organization roles and responsibilities definition, for what concerns safety aspects.
Apply & monitor HSE Management System standard issue.
Ensures, in accordance with the Corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems.
Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
Provides for motivation and familiarization of all Company personnel respecting the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided.
Assists the Commercial, Engineering and Operations Department in their dealings with Clients in all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
Conducts safety audits both internal and external.
Takes part in accident / incident investigation.
Carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
Provides technical support to Management on any safety related subjects.
Carries out any in-house safety training.
Carries out safety audits on Sub-contractors.
Liaises between Clients on safety related issues.
Safety related engineering input into new projects and modification programs.
Performs Risk Assessment.
Preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
Provides Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Essential Qualifications:
Diploma: Safety Management or equivalent
SAMTRAC or equivalent
ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 certificates are advantageous
Incident Investigation and Audit
NOTE: registered with the SACPCMP as a Pr. CHSM
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
5-10 Years work experience in construction or production environment;
Renewable experience (Wind and Solar is advantageous)
5 Years HSE management system experience (national and international codes of best practices);
Deep Legislative Knowledge – OHS Act and Regulations
Advance Microsoft software experience;
Document and report writing experience is imperative; EXPERT Level.
Statistical knowledge on Executive and local Reporting
Environmental experience will be an advantage

Responsibilities
Operate to the highest standard of ethics as indicated at ENGIE.
Assist with strategic HSE planning.
Assist business lines with internal & external audits.
Promote and provide HSE related awareness and training as and when required.
Assist with the implementation and facilitation of the HSE management system.
Assist with the compilation of HSE statistics.
Form part of the investigation team with business as requested.
Ensure business legal compliance.
Assist with business line management reviews.
Review the HSE Integrated Management System, documents if needed.
Assist with risk assessments.
Assist with compliance to governmental requirements.
Location / travel
Based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Flexibility to travel throughout South Africa (Regular Projects and operations Travel).
