Genkem has an exciting opportunity within our Health and Safety Department. We are looking for talented individuals with relevant skills and experience to be a Health and Safety Officer, based at our plant in Johannesburg. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Operations Manager
Minimum Criteria:
Matric
Clear Criminal Record
Degree/ Diploma in Safety Management
SAMTRAC/ NOSA / HIRA Certified
Knowledge of the Occupational Health Act
Strong Communication and Reporting Skills
Attention to detail
Minimum 5 Years’ experience within a manufacturing environment
Responsibilities:
Monitor and enforce safety procedure throughout the site
Compile relevant risk assessments
Conduct regular internal audits and inspections
Conduct incident investigations
Maintain accurate safety records
Support continuous improvement of safety systems and procedures
Attend to IODs and ensure IOD submission is done timeously
SHEQ Reporting
Responsible for issuing and maintaining correct PPE levels
Working knowledge of ISO9001, 14001 & 4500
