A leading international group is seeking an immediately available senior treasury leader to oversee treasury strategy, funding, and risk management across its African operations. This role sits firmly within a corporate environment (non-financial services) and requires experience managing treasury activities in a commercial, operating business. There will be some occasional travel to the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead treasury strategy, funding, and liquidity management across multiple African markets
- Structure and execute bank facilities; manage capital structure and intercompany funding
- Oversee cash flow forecasting, liquidity planning, and working capital optimisation within an operating business environment
- Manage FX and commodity risk linked to underlying commercial activities
- Drive solutions for trapped cash, currency constraints, and repatriation challenges
- Lead regional banking relationships and support treasury aspects of projects and M&A activity
- Build and develop a high-performing in-house treasury team
- Strengthen governance, controls, and treasury policy compliance
- Drive treasury systems, technology adoption, and process improvements
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in corporate treasury within a non-financial services organisation (essential)
- Strong expertise in emerging markets funding, liquidity, and FX risk from a corporate (non-bank) perspective
- Experience supporting operating businesses across multiple jurisdictions with regulatory complexity
- Commercially focused, with the ability to partner effectively with finance and operational leaders
- Confident, credible leader with the ability to influence at senior level
- Structured, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities
- Treasury qualification (e.g. ACT) desirable
