An exciting senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished Logistics & Supply Chain professional with strong Africa experience, combining operational leadership with systems, technology and process optimisation.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for driving efficient, scalable logistics and supply-chain operations across a complex African environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and optimise logistics, transport and supply-chain operations
- Manage complex cross-border African logistics and multi-country operations
- Oversee freight forwarding, customs clearance, import/export, port and inland transport processes
- Drive operational performance, service delivery, cost control and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement logistics systems, reporting, dashboards and operational controls
- Lead digital transformation, automation and AI-enabled process improvements
- Improve data quality, operational visibility and management reporting
- Develop and standardise SOPs, workflows and scalable business processes
- Coordinate effectively with customers, suppliers, transporters, service providers and internal stakeholders
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement measurable improvements
- Provide senior leadership across logistics, systems and operational projects
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Significant senior-level Logistics / Supply Chain / Transport experience
- Strong Africa experience is essential
- Proven exposure to cross-border logistics and complex African supply chains
- Experience with freight forwarding, clearing/customs, transport and logistics operations
- Strong understanding of logistics technology, systems and process implementation
- Experience using data, reporting and technology to improve operational performance
- Proven leadership and stakeholder-management capability
Experience within steel, base metals, mining, commodities, industrial products or high-volume cross-border logistics would be highly advantageous.
This is a strategic, hands-on leadership position requiring someone who understands both the physical movement of freight and the systems and processes behind a high-performing logistics operation.
