Role Overview:
We are seeking an innovative, data-driven, and commercially astute leader to serve as the Head of Fuel Solutions for our Fuel Connect platform. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the future of fuel management across South Africa by leading product innovation, forging high-impact partnerships, and driving national rollout and operational scale. You will take full ownership of the platform’s growth, sustainability, and commercial impact.
Purpose of the Role:
To lead the strategic direction, partner ecosystem, and national expansion of the Fuel Connect solution. The Director of Fuel Solutions will own the end-to-end commercial, operational, and product development life cycle—enabling smarter, tech-enabled fuel solutions that drive measurable impact across the industry.
Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Relationship Management
Build and sustain executive-level relationships with key industry stakeholders: oil companies, branded marketers, fuel retailers, banks, technology partners, and infrastructure providers.
Represent the Fuel Connect platform at high-level industry events and strategic engagements.
Lead commercial negotiations to drive partner exclusivity and integration that fosters scale and loyalty.
2. Product Leadership & Innovation
Define and refine the Fuel Connect product roadmap in alignment with market trends and customer insights.
Leverage integrated POS, ATG, and financial data to inform continuous product innovation and improvement.
Partner with internal tech and product teams to deliver seamless, scalable fuel management experiences.
3. Operational Rollout & Governance
Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new retail sites, ensuring profitability, compliance, and performance tracking.
Oversee the successful deployment of ATG systems, POS infrastructure, and banking integrations.
Establish site-level data dashboards to monitor volumes, cash flow, credit usage, and operational health in real time.
4. Team Development & Leadership
Manage and mentor a growing team of Fuel Specialists and Account Managers across key regions.
Build team capacity in areas such as commercial acumen, systems thinking, and relationship development.
5. National Expansion Strategy
Drive the platform’s geographic and market segment expansion across strategic growth corridors.
Engage branded marketers and oil companies to access their downstream retail networks.

8+ years in commercial, operations, or strategic roles in fuel retail, financial services, or technology sectors.
Proven track record in managing high-value partnerships and delivering large-scale projects.
Strong leadership presence and ability to influence both internal teams and external executives.
Experience with POS systems, telemetry/ATG technologies, or fintech solutions in the fuel ecosystem is advantageous.
