The purpose of this role is to manage the quality of teaching and learning, support and compliance of provision and staff and student resources across the academic department(s).

RequirementsEssential Qualifications & Experience
A minimum of a NQF Level 9 qualification essential. Masters degree in one of the fields of specialization preferred.
Post graduate qualification in Teaching and Learning or Education preferred.
Minimum of 5 years relevant industry experience and experience within the tertiary education sector
2 years in a management role
4 years lecturing/facilitation experience
Essential Skills
Knowledge of academic student support, teaching and learning and quality assurance within the higher education sector
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
Responsible for the academic management on campus with regards to:
– the quality of teaching and learning and assessment provision,
uphold current curriculum and apply sound assessment principles across programmes
process and resolve student queries, and put forward appeals and special academic requests
manage the student progression process
implementing academic compliance standards
lecturer ratio, timetabling and effective resource allocation
lecturer development and evaluation
Manage student and staff Induction and creative project requirements through industry networks
Manage venue and inventory control
Implement student/staff academic platforms and e-resources
Responsible for implementing the student disciplinary code and conduct staff and student enquiries when required
Ensure for accurate, timeous, and secure academic administration and result release and recordkeeping
Ensure academic administration processes and automated forms/reports are implemented
Manage the graduation process
Responsible for lecturing one module per semester
Responsible for implementing student support initiatives to improve student academic success and wellness
