Main Responsibilities:
Manage the Wheat Cleaning, Conditioning, and Milling Functions.
Manage milling staff and shift planning
Optimise and maintain good extraction, quality, and volume
Perform machine adjustments as required
Check Maintenance
Quality testing/control
Production schedule planning
Wheat gristing
Food safety
Break-down standby: organize repairs
Training of staff
Abilities:
Good at managing- and working with people
Sound understanding of the milling process and knowing how everything works
Understand milling machines and know how to adjust them for optimum performance
Must be a good organizer with excellent planning abilities
Willing to be on standby to oversee the solving of production troubles after-hours
Able to manage under pressure, especially in situations of unforeseen circumstances
Willing to embrace the function of milling production and take on full responsibility
Good with problem-solving
Requirements:
SAGMA/GMF Wheat milling qualification (Qualified Wheat Miller)
5 years experience as a Miller
Good computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Other tertiary qualifications will be advantageous
The technical background will be advantageous
