Head Chef | Luxury Lodge & Hotel Group | Cape Town
Salary: R30,000 – R35,000 (Negotiable DOE) | Live-Out Position
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an experienced and driven Head Chef for a prestigious luxury lodge and hotel group based in Cape Town
. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader with a passion for culinary excellence and a commitment to delivering consistently high standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Professional Cookery Diploma or Degree (advantageous)
2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a multi-outlet environment
Experience across Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Hot and Cold sections is essential
Strong understanding of recipes, menu planning, costing, and kitchen operations
Familiarity with HACCP standards and compliance
Proficiency in MS Office for administrative duties
Excellent communication skills; must be fluent in English
Performance Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery
Control kitchen budgets, stock levels, orders, and waste management
Create innovative menus and cost-effective recipes tailored to guest preferences
Ensure consistent food quality and timely preparation
Oversee and maintain hygiene standards in accordance with HACCP
Train and upskill new and existing staff on kitchen operations and cooking techniques
Foster a team environment that promotes growth, communication, and excellence
Monitor kitchen equipment maintenance and report issues accordingly
Implement cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with health and safety policies
