Duties & Responsibilities

Maintenance Operations

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs on building infrastructure, including lighting, plumbing, basic electrical work, carpentry, painting, furniture,fittings, fixtures, and related equipment.
  • Support planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, and ad hoc maintenance tasks in line with service level agreements.
  • Conduct maintenance work in a safe, competent, and compliant manner at all times.
  • Ensure work areas are cleaned and secured after completion of tasks.

Inspections and Compliance

  • Carry out daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance inspections as required.
  • Conduct inspections in line with Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
  • Adhere strictly to Tsebo Facilities Solutions’ SHEQ policies and procedures, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

Job Control and Reporting

  • Complete all job cards accurately and within allocated timeframes.
  • Proactively log, update, and close maintenance calls through the Contact Centre system.
  • Escalate unresolved or high-risk issues to the Building Manager or Shift Supervisor before the end of the shift.

Tools, Equipment, and Workspace

  • Ensure all tools are maintained in good working condition and used correctly.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment at all times.

Customer Service

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service in all interactions.
  • Remain professional, presentable, and courteous when engaging with guests, clients, and internal stakeholders.

General Duties

  • Participate in shift work, including overtime when required by operational needs.
  • Comply with timekeeping requirements, including clocking in and out for all shifts.
  • Perform any reasonable duties assigned by management or supervisors in support of site operations.

Skills and Competencies

Technical Skills

  • Good working knowledge of hand and machine tools.
  • Multi-skilled maintenance capability across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance.
  • Familiarity with construction-related activities and building services.

Behavioural and Functional Competencies

  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Able to plan, organise, and manage own workload effectively.
  • Works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Punctual, reliable, and flexible to meet operational demands.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Matric (NQF Level 4 technical qualification advantageous)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in facilities or maintenance
  • Skilled in hand/power tools, plumbing, and electrical systems
  • Strong time management and customer service focus
