H2S Safety Technician
Canon Safety/RHI Group is looking for experienced H2S Safety Technicians to join our dynamic team in the Permian Basin Region.
CANDIDATES MUST LIVE IN PERMIAN BASIN REGION- Midland-Odessa-Andrews TX Area. Out of town applicants will be declined.
Job Description:
H2S Safety Supervisor/Technician are responsible for monitoring work locations for existing or potential hazardous substances, including H2S (Hydrogen Sulfide) and LEL, as well as others.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site supervision of air monitoring equipment during drilling and completion operations.
- Oversee personnel using respiratory protection to ensure proper usage and compliance.
- Perform rig-up and rig-down of air monitoring and safety equipment.
- Conduct calibration, testing, and inspection of air monitoring equipment, along with general shop maintenance.
- Deliver H2S Awareness Training and perform respiratory fit testing as required.
- Prepare pre-job safety documentation including Job Safety Analyses (JSA), permits, and related forms.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Monitor and manage H2S levels using detection and alarm systems.
- Lead safety training sessions on hazard recognition, emergency response, and proper equipment use.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures, policies, and protocols.
- Respond to incidents, accidents, or emergencies with appropriate action and documentation.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
- Manage inventory, maintenance, and proper usage of safety equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with management to promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
Requirements:
- 2+ years H2S or Oil & Gas Experience
- Good driving record
- High School Diploma or GED
- Good communication skills
- Must be physically able to perform daily duties- including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to pass a Medical Clearance for Respiratory Fit Test
Company Vehicle Available within 45 days of hire- must have reliable transportation for training period to/from the shop in Andrews, TX.
ONLY EXPERIENCED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED- must have oil and gas experience in drilling, completions or production roles.
Job Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Overtime Eligible)
Pay: Dependent on experience- Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3.
Shift: Hiring for Day, Evening and Overnight Shifts– Overnight Travel may be required for some projects based on drive time or schedule.
