Samsara Africa Travel is looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and solutions-driven Ground Operations Manager to lead and coordinate all daily operational movements in Cape Town. This role is central to ensuring our premium standards are consistently upheld while delivering seamless service to our high-end clientele.
The ideal candidate is operationally strong, calm under pressure, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, communication, and service excellence are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Coordination & Service Allocation
Oversee all daily ground logistics, including service allocation, vehicle planning, and chauffeur scheduling.
Adjust schedules in real time to accommodate operational changes, traffic delays, or last-minute requests.
Ensure all services depart on time and maintain Samsara’s premium standards.
Monitor Cape Town’s road conditions, traffic hotspots, protests, weather, and safety alerts to guide chauffeurs on the safest and most efficient routes.
Chauffeur Supervision & Communication
Be on call during operational hours to provide real-time support to chauffeurs and service movements.
Supervise chauffeur performance, route efficiency, and professionalism throughout the day.
Communicate clearly and promptly, providing route updates, operational instructions, and support as needed.
Fleet Oversight & Quality Control
Ensure all staff documentation (PDPs, driver’s licences) is valid and up to date.
Monitor vehicle service intervals and manage all service-related bookings and follow-ups.
Coordinate tyre rotations, balancing, and general vehicle health management.
Track, report, and follow up on any vehicle damages, scratches, or maintenance requirements.
Conduct regular vehicle checks to uphold fleet presentation and operational readiness.
Oversee car wash and detailing standards to ensure every vehicle reflects Samsara’s luxury brand image.
Safety, Compliance & Standards
Ensure compliance with all operational safety guidelines and company protocols.
Maintain strong alignment with Samsara’s service culture and uphold a high level of professionalism.
Support the Operations Manager in identifying inefficiencies and implementing improved systems and processes.
Requirements
Experience in hospitality, tourism operations, logistics, or ground handling.
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to perform well under pressure and provide fast, effective solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail and strong commitment to quality.
Valid driver’s licence (advantageous).
Strong knowledge of Cape Town routes, Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Winelands, Peninsula routes, and airport logistics is a plus.
