Graphic Designer Jobs in Cape Town, South Africa at Make it Good

Salary: R30 000 – R50 000 CTC
Work model: Fully remote (Cape Town preferred), flexible hours
Must be able to legally work in South Africa.

Why you’d want to work here…

A growing, family-owned EdTech business with nearly two decades under its belt — and a genuine soul. This isn’t a faceless corporate. The founder is still hands-on, the culture is warm and communicative, and they’re investing in building something that lasts.

  • 24 days leave plus public holidays (UK bank holidays observed; SA holidays honoured where possible)
  • Fully remote with flexible working hours — real work-life balance, not just the talking point
  • You’re employed via an Employer of Record, meaning full SA labour law protection and zero tax admin headaches
  • Strong internal culture with monthly company updates and active leadership involvement
  • Opportunity to build a varied portfolio across two growing brands
  • Confident communicators who can collaborate and push back are genuinely valued here

About our client…

Our client is a multi-award-winning EdTech business that builds software for school kitchen and site management across the UK. Alongside their flagship product, they also operate a newer brand focused on compliance and site management — and both are growing. This is their first hire on the African continent, which means you’ll be in early, with real visibility and room to make your mark.

Think clean, corporate B2B aesthetics, public sector clients, and a team that cares about doing things well.

What the job involves…

  • Designing and producing sales collateral, pitch decks, brochures, one-pagers, and case studies
  • Creating event materials including stands, banners, and signage
  • Producing website and digital visuals
  • Designing across two brands, adapting style as needed while maintaining overall visual consistency
  • Applying and maintaining brand guidelines across all outputs
  • Creating social media assets including static graphics and carousels, adapted for different platforms and formats
  • Building reusable templates to improve speed and consistency
  • Working to clear briefs from the Marketing Manager, iterating based on feedback
  • Managing multiple tasks and deadlines effectively

What you need to be considered…

  • A strong graphic design portfolio is non-negotiable — your portfolio will carry far more weight than your CV or qualifications. We want to see work across digital, print, and social media. No portfolio, no response.
  • Solid grasp of layout, typography, colour, and visual hierarchy
  • Confidence using your design tools of choice (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent)
  • Ability to work to briefs and deadlines without hand-holding
  • Strong communication skills — you’ll need to collaborate, take feedback well, and push back when needed
  • Must be based in South Africa and legally able to work here

Bonus points if you…

  • Have experience designing for digital and social media platforms
  • Understand brand guidelines and how to apply them consistently
  • Are keen to grow into a more senior creative role over time
