Phelan Green Energy is pleased to extend this job offer for the position of Graduate Chemical Engineer within our Technical Team focused on the production of green hydrogen and its derivatives.

Position Overview:

As a Graduate Chemical Engineer at Phelan Green Energy, you will be an integral part of our dynamic Green Hydrogen Team, working on international projects related to project development to produce green hydrogen and its derivatives. Your responsibilities will include:

Process Optimization: Collaborate with the team to enhance the efficiency of green hydrogen production processes through continuous improvement and innovation.

Research and Development: Engage in ongoing R&D activities to explore and implement new technologies for the advancement of green hydrogen production.

Quality Control: Ensure the highest standards of quality in the production processes and contribute to the development of rigorous quality control measures.

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate chemical engineering principles into the broader context of renewable energy solutions.

Plant design: Green hydrogen and ammonia technology is constantly changing so the layouts need to constantly be updated.

Detailed costing: There are many different components and pieces of equipment that go into this so detailed equipment lists need to be put together as well as a detailed costing sheet.

Environmental permits: The projects require detailed environmental permits which need to be done accurately and correctly so achieve environmental authorisation.

Risk Assessments and Major Hazardous Installation (MHI): This requires detailed engineering work in order to accurately complete the MHI in terms of PFDs, mass balances, energy balances, P&IDs, MSDSs, codes and standards, etc.

Financial modelling: Continuously running financial models as the process becomes optimised to achieve the lowest levelized cost of hydrogen.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

Strong academic background with a focus on renewable energy, hydrogen production, or related fields.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to learning and development.

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
