The Position
Roche Pharma South Africaoffers a unique andexcitingopportunity for an executive to lead and inspire in a market context that has both elements of developing and mature markets, where the importance of customer centricity and agility are key. This opportunity includes the responsibility for adiversesub-region, including Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, eSwatini, Lesotho, Mauritius, Seychelles and Madagascar.
As aGeneral Manageryou will act as an agile leader (Visionary, Architect, Coach, Catalyst) and ensure all employees live Pharma International’s desired state culture. While reporting to the Area Head for Africa you will lead an externally focused and agile organization with a mindset and culture that engages our employees to bring our medicines and services to more patients faster, while shaping the healthcare system toward long-termsustainability.
Priorities on this position are to:
Deliver better outcomes for more patients faster by providing enterpriseleadershipto a highly externally-focused organization which is focused on co-creating with stakeholders and partners, ensuring alignment with local and global regulations, license to operate requirements and adherence to the Roche Group Code of Conduct.
Establish Roche as a trusted partner by actively shaping local & broader healthcare ecosystems towards long-termsustainability(including government affairs and policy engagements).
Accelerate our journey to the North Star by driving enterprise outcomes and contributing in equal measures to the performance of both countries (incl. P&L responsibility) and the wider organization, fully leveraging global networks, digital enablement, and catalyzing an empowered local approach.
Strengthen the strategic portfolio through fostering commercial excellence and driving a culture of inclusivity, where peoples’ ideas are encouraged, explored and valued.
Build adiversetalent pipeline by fostering an agile mindset and encouraging a network culture and people fluidity that provides exceptionallearning opportunitiesto our employees and the organization and inspires them to collectively bring ourinnovationto more patients faster.
Co-own the overarching long- to mid-term outcomes and impacts of the Area as a member of the Africa Network Enabling Team.
To be successful:
You are an experienced and highly creative leader of cross-functional and networked teams, who knows how to both find and developdiversetalent and connect them to the wider enterprise.
You have a successful track record of role modeling and passionately advocating VACC (Visionary, Architect, Coach and Catalyst)leadership.
You are able to engage with senior external stakeholders and political decision makers drivinginnovativeideas on shaping health systems in low resource settings.
