Role Description The Furniture Store Sales Assistant will work full time on-site at our Tygervalley, Cape Town store, supporting customers throughout their shopping experience. Daily tasks include welcoming customers, understanding their needs, presenting product options, and providing detailed information on materials, finishes, and customization possibilities. The role involves processing sales, issuing invoices, handling payments, and ensuring accurate documentation. The Sales Assistant will help maintain attractive and organized store displays, manage stock on the floor, and keep the showroom clean and presentable. The role also includes learning product ranges, supporting training initiatives, and collaborating with the team to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer service.

Qualifications

  • Strong Communication skills, including clear verbal interaction and active listening with customers and team members.
  • Proven Customer Service experience, with the ability to handle inquiries, complaints, and support a positive in-store experience.
  • Retail Sales capabilities, including product demonstration, upselling, and closing sales in a store environment.
  • Good Organization Skills for managing time, maintaining displays, tracking basic stock levels, and handling documentation.
  • Training experience or willingness to learn and share product knowledge with colleagues and customers.
  • Interest in furniture, interior design, and sustainable products, with the ability to learn technical details about materials and finishes.
  • Basic computer literacy for point-of-sale systems, email, and online product references.
  • Previous experience in retail or showroom sales is an advantage; a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
