CGS Shopfitters is looking for a reliable, accurate, and detail-oriented Full Function Bookkeeper to join our team in Benrose, Johannesburg.

This role is suited to someone with strong full-function bookkeeping experience who is comfortable working in a busy manufacturing, shopfitting, construction, or project-based environment.

The successful candidate must be confident managing bookkeeping across multiple related entities, with high supplier activity, project-based financial records, and regular monthly reporting requirements.

The role involves maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day financial operations, preparing quotes on QuickBooks using cost information provided by management, and ensuring that purchasing, supplier, customer, and project-related financial records are accurately captured, reconciled, and maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Full-function bookkeeping up to Trial Balance

• Capturing and maintaining accurate financial transactions

• Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable

• Performing bank, creditor, and debtor reconciliations

• Capturing supplier invoices, customer invoices, payments, and receipts

• Preparing quotes on QuickBooks using cost information provided by management

• Reconciling and overseeing purchasing records, supplier invoices, delivery notes, and related documentation

• Maintaining accurate supplier, customer, and project-related financial records

• Tracking and reconciling project-related costs, including materials, supplier costs, subcontractor costs, and other job expenses

• Preparing monthly financial reports, including expense reports and cash flow information

• Assisting management with accurate financial information for decision-making

• Identifying financial discrepancies, risks, or irregularities

• Ensuring compliance with SARS requirements, including VAT submissions

• Assisting with statutory and accounting-related documentation where required

• Maintaining accurate, audit-ready financial records

• Liaising with suppliers, customers, accountants, auditors, and internal stakeholders

• Supporting improvements to bookkeeping, administrative, and financial processes

• Assisting with general administration and ad-hoc duties as required

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric

• National Certificate, Diploma, or Higher Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance

• 3–5 years’ full-function bookkeeping experience up to Trial Balance

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at intermediate level or above

• Experience working on accounting software, preferably QuickBooks

• Experience preparing quotes, invoices, and financial documents on QuickBooks will be advantageous

• Experience reconciling supplier invoices, delivery notes, purchasing records, and project-related costs will be advantageous

• Experience handling high-volume bookkeeping, multiple entities, or project-based accounts will be advantageous

• Experience in manufacturing, construction, shopfitting, or a project-based environment will be highly advantageous
