Location: Randburg
We require a junior Fruit Trader. You will support global fruit trade operations, including logistics and relationship management, requiring strong negotiation skills and a passion for fresh produce industry.
Minimum Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Agriculture, International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain or related At least 1 year experience trading fresh produce, or in exports Knowledge of INCO terms and export documentation
Duties and Responsibilities:
Trading & Sales:
– Assist in sourcing and selling fresh fruit to international markets.
– Support the development and maintenance of strong relationships with buyers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
– Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and trends in the global fruit trade.
– Prepare and negotiate offers, contracts, and pricing structures with guidance from senior traders.
– Ensure efficient order processing, from sales confirmation to delivery. Logistics & Operations:
– Coordinate export documentation, shipping schedules, and
quality control
procedures.
– Work closely with freight forwarders, cold storage facilities, and other logistics partners to ensure timely delivery.
– Monitor inventory levels and assist in managing
supply chain efficiency
. Regulatory & Compliance:
– Ensure all transactions comply with international trade laws, phytosanitary requirements, and export regulations.
– Maintain accurate records of contracts, shipments, and compliance documentation. Fi nancial & Administration:
– Assist in managing costs, payment terms, and credit control with customers and suppliers.
– Monitor currency exchange rates and their impact on pricing and profitability.
– Support in preparing financial reports, forecasts, and performance analyses.
