Our client is looking for a Front of House Manager to be based in Pretoria. Our client provides access to performance spaces in which the performing arts sector creates productions that are watched by diverse audiences. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CRITICAL COMPETENCIES:

Management of budgets, facilities, stock, and human resources.

Leadership skills 

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BCom Degree in Business Management or equivalent

3 years of management experience 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: 

  1. Develop Strategy, policies, and procedures for the front of house.
  2. Ensure that the shows are well coordinated in accordance with their uniqueness and presentation.
  3. Manage and present the patrons in a good and acceptable state, and offer patrons a unique experience that will bring them back.
  4. Always maintain the state theatre standards and values to ensure that the theatre is well managed and presentable for audiences.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to ensure the effective running of the shows and manage the dependencies.
  6. Control access rights of all patrons are well catered for.
  7. Manage and coordinate the hospitality riders for all relevant stakeholders.
  8. Effective running of all functions associated with all venues and foyers.
  9. Maintain effective internal and external communication.
  10. Facilitate meetings with potential clients and other relevant stakeholders.
  11. Manage all departmental finances, including revenue generated from sales.
  12. Facilitate during the event planning and management processes to ensure the effective running of the shows.
  13. Hiring of front of house staff and managing

contractors and sub-contractors.

14. Compilation of statistics report for senior management.

  • Staff Development and performance management, including coordinating appraisals.
  • Manage inventory.
  • Manage staff scheduling.
  • Manage the bar and run a special.
  • Overseeing all units under front of house and running the theatre and foyers.
  • 15. Manage the front and back of the restaurant effectively and benchmark with the modern restaurant operation.
  • 16. Plan for weekly activities, assign responsibilities to staff, create a performance plan, manage performances, and provide a strategy to achieve the revenue target.
  • 17. Monitor deliverables through weekly reviews, conduct reviews through monthly reporting, and assess performance on a quarterly basis.

BAR

  • • Running of 6 Bars to generate revenue

TICKETS

  • • Sell state theatre performance tickets at the box office to generate revenue

USHERING

  • • Usher patrons visiting our theatre to create user friendly and safe environment for all patrons visiting our theatre.
