Freelance Dubbing Scriptwriter/Adapter
We are looking for experienced Dubbing Scriptwriters/Adapters to join our pool of freelance writers. You’ll craft high-quality English dubbing scripts for film, TV, and streaming projects originating from various languages and clients.
A strong background in creative writing—especially in script adaptation for dubbing—is highly desirable.
Role Overview
As part of our scriptwriting team, you’ll adapt translated scripts into natural, character-driven English dialogue that preserves the original meaning, tone, and intent—while ensuring lip-sync and on-screen timing accuracy.
Engagement Options
This is a freelance, remote role. We currently have part-time and full-time positions available; however, we would give preference to writers joining with the intention of going full-time. Writers are paid per word based on the final script word count and are expected to invoice upon project completion. – add that invoicing happens monthly, i.e., not upon project completion.
Key Responsibilities
Adapt translated scripts for live-action and animated content into engaging English dialogue.
Ensure character consistency, natural flow, and lip-sync alignment.
Spot and include missing lines, reactions, breaths, and Walla cues.
Implement script notes and perform QC passes as needed.
Conform scripts during later production stages.
About You
Native-level English fluency.
Experience in dubbing or localization preferred.
Strong creative writing skills, especially in dialogue.
Excellent attention to detail and ear for rhythm/lip-sync.
Comfortable using Google Drive, Sheets, VLC, etc.
Self-motivated, organized, and accountable for deadlines.
Good communicator for working with producers, engineers, and managers.
Knowledge of other languages is a plus (but not required).
