Purpose of the Job:
Assist with the identification of fraud and other misconduct within the Cell C business environment that fall within the Forensic Services’ mandate. Provide support for internal and external forensic investigations for Cell C and other investigative teams as required. Investigations include commercial, organized/syndicated crime, and GSM fraud. Help mitigate fraud risk by identifying control weaknesses during forensic investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with forensic investigations involving complex commercial, organized crime, and GSM fraud, using data mining tools and case management systems like iBase.
Perform forensic analysis such as link charts, EIR database searches, and Analyst Notebook.
Assist with affidavits, evidence gathering, and giving testimony in disciplinary and criminal hearings.
Identify system and internal control weaknesses and suggest improvements.
Support fraud prevention strategies and share knowledge through reporting.
Coordinate with law enforcement and conduct operational monitoring.
Case Management:
Scope investigations, draft plans, and compile reports.
Manage time efficiently and document all investigative activities.
Reporting:
Research, document, and analyze case data.
Prepare progress and statistical reports for management.
Recoveries:
Assist in asset recovery and loss prevention.
Health and Safety:
Comply with health and safety legislation.
Report concerns and participate in safety workshops.
Additional Duties:
Perform ad hoc reviews, investigations, and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Certified Fraud Examiner or similar certification preferred; membership in relevant bodies advantageous.
Experience with Analyst Notebook/iBase and a relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma.
Telco Fraud Analyst Certification and cell phone forensics qualifications are preferable.
Experience:
At least 3 years in investigations, law enforcement, or corporate investigations, preferably in telecommunications.
Proficiency with data mining software (i2 suite), experience in financial and statistical analysis, and giving evidence in court are essential.
