Job Title:
Food Technologist
Our client based on the South Coast of Kwa Zulu-Natal is looking for a motivated and detail-driven Food Technologist. The ideal candidate will be experienced in product development, quality assurance, and food safety within the food manufacturing industry.
Requirements:
National Diploma or Degree in Food Technology or Food Science
At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within the food industry
Knowledge of R&D and food labelling regulations is essential
Proficient in MS Word and Excel
Ability to communicate in isiZulu and/or isi Xhosa
Willingness to work overtime and relocate if needed
Responsibilities:
Conduct training and provide translation support where required
Drive New Product Development (NPD) and manage R&D trials
Perform nutritional/shelf-life sampling and costings (BOMs)
Conduct hygiene inspections and ensure regulatory compliance
Collect samples, perform swabbing, and analyse data
Investigate wastage and assist with NCR tracking
Ensure recipe adherence, packaging compliance, and traceability
Support quality teams and oversee hygiene practices
Monitor staff timekeeping and assist with performance management
