Job Purpose
The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has an employment opportunity for a competent individual to assist project leaders with the design and execution of projects for the Chief Directorate: General Infrastructure.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Technology in Architecture (B.Tech) or relevant qualification as recognised by The South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP); A minimum of three years’ experience as a Senior Architectural Technologist; Compulsory registration with SACAP as a Senior Architectural Technologist; A valid code B driving licence.

Key Performance Areas
Undertake project management including planning, documentation and supervision on written instruction from supervisor; Assist professional and technical staff in Chief Directorate General Infrastructure by compiling project documentation; Assist with supply chain processes; Maintaining up to date as-built documentation of completed projects as well as maintaining up to date building layouts and technical documentation; Research and professional development.
Competencies
Knowledge and experience in the following: Architectural planning, producing construction documentation and administration of JBCC and NEC contracts; Making models or 3D representations; Measuring-up & producing as-built documentation; Legal compliance with various acts including the Occupational Health & Safety Act, National Building Regulations and its implementation via the South African National Standards; Skills needed: Project Management; Financial management; Organisation and teamwork; Proven computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and AutoCAD; Verbal and written communication.
Remuneration
Grade A: R429 930 per annum (Salary will be determined based on post registration experience as per OSD prescript)
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.

These candidates will be required to do a practical and attend interviews on a date and time determined by the department and may also be required to undergo competency assessments/proficiency tests. The selection process will be guided by the EE targets of the employing department.
