Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week
Pay: $32.00-$40.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications

Relay Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Test & Inspection Technician II/III to join our Baltimore inspection team.
This is a lead-level field position for a technician who can independently perform inspection, testing, and maintenance services while providing direction and support to other members of the inspection crew. The ideal candidate brings strong fire sprinkler experience, working knowledge of fire alarm inspections, and the professionalism to communicate clearly with customers and represent Relay in the field.

What You’ll Do
- Lead and perform inspection, testing, and maintenance of commercial fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspect and test fire alarm systems based on experience, qualifications, and assigned scope.
- Identify system deficiencies, document findings accurately, and communicate results to customers and internal teams.
- Complete detailed inspection reports using Relay’s inspection platform.
- Onboard newly acquired customer locations and enter system assets accurately into the inspection platform.
- Oversee initial inspections for new customers to confirm equipment and asset information for future service.
- Review system condition and identify potential repair, upgrade, replacement, or retrofit opportunities.
- Provide clear information to customers regarding inspection results and observed deficiencies.
- Train and mentor inspectors, apprentices, and developing technicians.
- Conduct onsite performance reviews and provide practical coaching to inspection team members.
- Collaborate with inspection management to improve field performance, documentation quality, and customer service.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent Relay positively at customer locations.
- Follow applicable NFPA standards, safety procedures, customer requirements, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete assigned documentation on time.
What We’re Looking For
- At least two years of experience leading fire protection system inspections, testing, and maintenance.
- Strong hands-on experience inspecting and testing commercial fire sprinkler systems.
- Experience or meaningful exposure inspecting fire alarm systems.
- NICET Level II certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
- Ability to identify and accurately document fire protection system deficiencies.
- Working knowledge of applicable NFPA standards and inspection procedures.
- Ability to read system documentation and understand common sprinkler and fire alarm components.
- Experience using electronic inspection software, mobile applications, or field-service platforms.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor less-experienced technicians.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate reporting.
- Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with field and office leadership.

Additional Experience We Value
- NICET Level III certification in Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems.
- Experience inspecting or testing clean-agent fire suppression systems.
- Experience with commercial kitchen fire suppression systems.
- Broader experience across multiple fire and life safety disciplines.
- Experience onboarding new customer locations or conducting initial system asset surveys.
- Experience identifying repair, upgrade, and retrofit opportunities during inspections.
