Overview
The purpose of the position is to manage the full financial function of the Hospitals division, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, effective financial controls and strategic financial support to enable business performance and decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax legislation and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyse financial results and provide meaningful business insights and recommendations.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital and financial performance.
- Develop, implement and maintain effective financial controls and processes.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external audit processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations and governance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation and digital transformation initiatives.
- Provide financial support and guidance to executive and operational teams.
- Develop and lead the finance team, driving performance and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and financial institutions.
Qualifications
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A CA(SA), CIMA or equivalent professional qualification will be advantageous.
- 7–10 years’ experience in financial management.
- Experience with in the healthcare industry or a multi-entity environment will be advantageous.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting, financial controls and compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of IFRS and group reporting principles.
- Strong understanding of tax, VAT and statutory compliance.
- Experience with financial systems, ERP systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
