Position: Financial Manager (Support Office)
Location: City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality
My client is looking for a Financial Manager to oversee and manage the financial functions of their Support Services team. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and a strong background in financial management.
This role is based in Sandton, Johannesburg North.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise the Support Services team, ensuring efficient operations.
Act as a bank signatory, approving EFT payments and verifying new creditor banking details.
Authorise journal entries and oversee the point-of-sale (POS) system, including purchase order approvals.
Conduct reviews of balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analyses.
Oversee the VAT submission process for the Support Services division.
Prepare year-end accounting packs and support the audit and budgeting processes for cost centres.
Manage financial reporting, including Flash reports, monthly and quarterly reports, and forecasts.
Provide financial guidance to department heads, assisting with queries and budget management.
Review and manage the fringe benefit company car schedules, payroll deductions, and commission structures.
Perform budget vs actual variance analysis and forecast vs actual variance analysis on a monthly basis.
Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with financial policies.
Handle ad hoc financial requests from the Group Office as needed.
Requirements:
BCom Accounting Degree and Honours.
Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience.
