A well-established and respected organisation within the South African insurance and financial services sector is looking for a Financial Manager to join their Finance Division.
Reporting directly to senior management, this role offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing the finance portfolio of a significant insurance entity within the group. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of finance
, from IFRS reporting and annual financial statements to audit management and executive-level reporting.
Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly management reports and delivering detailed financial analysis
- Presenting financial results and insights to senior and executive stakeholders
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Processing and/or reviewing monthly trial balances
- Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing daily payments and analysing supporting financial schedules
- Participating in technical finance projects, including IFRS 17 implementation initiatives
- Compiling sections of annual financial statements related to investments (IFRS 17)
- Taking ownership of the annual audit process, including liaising with external auditors
Minimum Requirements (Non-Negotiable)
- Solid IFRS knowledge, including exposure to IFRS 17
- Experience preparing Annual Financial Statements
- Proven experience managing the audit process
