Role Responsibilities
GL Controlling:
Balances and blocks of transactions imported from Exactus
Development and maintenance of the appropriate policies and procedures related to the process of reconciliation between Exactus and Accpac as well as the process of integration between Accpac and Exactus.
Management of the process related to monthly imports from Exactus into Accpac.
Management of the Exactus Ledger structure.
Review and approval of all journals passed by Finance in Exactus.
Review and approval of all reconciliations related to the balances and blocks of transactions imported from Exactus into Accpac.
Ensuring that appropriate documents support each balance and block of transactions imported from Exactus into Accpac.
Management of the process related to continuous improvement and maintenance of Exactus including Exactus change order management.
Signing off on behalf of Finance on all Exactus developments resultant from the change orders and incident reports.
Signing off on behalf of Finance on all Exactus change orders logged by the various departments after assessing the impact of such change orders on Exactus and General Ledger of the Bank.
Representing Finance with the enablement team in various IT committees related to change order management and project management.
Continuous monitoring of Exactus in order to identify and correct possible errors.
Ensuring VAT compliance of transactions processed by Exactus.
Exactus Administration
Ensure adequate controls for options owned by Finance.
Ensure the integrity of the overarching Exactus SOP.
Maintain adequate controls around the running of the Exactus trial balance.
Product Month End and Periodic Reporting
Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of numbers and that they are in accordance with IFRS.
Assisting stakeholders in ensuring that numbers produced are per the required standards.
Ensuring that the Debtors ledger and general ledger of all the products is reconciled.
Ensuring that intercompany accounts at a product level are reconciled.
Ensure effective and efficient processes and controls are initiated and implemented to manage operational risks.
Identify and implement opportunities for automation of current processes.
Providing input into the financial statements for the products.
Assisting in the internal and external audit of the products.
Accounting
Management of the accurate and timeous general ledger processing of the blocks of transactions assigned to the employee.
Accurate and efficient month end procedures, related to the balances and blocks of transactions assigned to the employee.
Review and authorization of the transactions assigned to the employee.
Review and authorization of the reconciliations assigned to the employee.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of the 5-year financial plan based on the segment’s strategy for approval by the segment CE and CFO and ultimately the Group Exco and Board.
Assist in the performance of a re-forecast at least twice per year.
Capture budgets in budgeting system.
Regulatory Compliance
Review of the quarterly NCR regulatory submissions:
Form 39 and 40 for all entities.
Provide Input into the Fair Value and Impairments Committee Packs
Review monthly finance fair value and impairments committee packs.
Role Requirements
CA (SA) and/or relevant degree.
General experience and skills in financial management, financial reporting, financial modelling and related software tools.
2-3 years experience in general finance, accounting exposure, and IFRS within the banking environment (advantageous).
