SUMMARY:

FINANCIAL MANAGER

Location: Citrusdal Valley

Reporting to: Company Secretary

Type: Permanent

COMPANY OVERVIEW:

An established agricultural and export business, operating within the citrus industry, is seeking to appoint a Financial Manager. The organisation operates in a regulated environment and requires strong financial governance, compliance, and commercial support.

POSITION INFO:

ROLE PURPOSE:

To take responsibility for financial compliance, corporate governance support, contract management, and payroll processing, ensuring adherence to applicable legislation and supporting business operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure compliance with South African tax legislation and applicable foreign jurisdictions
  • Maintain SARB approvals and regulatory requirements
  • Manage internal and external audit processes
  • Monitor and strengthen internal controls
  • Track and interpret changes in financial legislation

Corporate Governance

  • Support the Company Secretary with governance processes
  • Prepare board and committee documentation
  • Attend meetings, record minutes, and track action items

Contract & Legal Administration

  • Review and monitor contracts, renewals, and compliance obligations
  • Support drafting and finalisation of agreements
  • Assist with due diligence processes
  • Maintain a central contracts repository

Payroll & Remuneration

  • Oversee monthly payroll processing and reconciliations
  • Maintain remuneration records for reporting purposes

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Completed SAICA or SAIPA articles advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in accounting, audit, or compliance
  • Strong working knowledge of:
    • Tax legislation
    • IFRS
    • Companies Act and King IV
    • B-BBEE, POPIA, and FIC
  • Proficient in Microsoft-based accounting and payroll systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability
  • High level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Effective communication skills
