Finance Director – Food and Beverage Sector
Our client, within the Food and Beverage sector, is seeking a Finance Director to join their executive leadership team. This is a pivotal role for a strategic finance professional who will shape financial direction, strengthen governance, and drive long-term business performance within a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. This opportunity is ideally suited to a finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, commercially driven business and can operate at both strategic and operational level. The role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the finance activities.
- Contribute at executive level by providing commercial and strategic support to the business.
- Advise on capital structure, forex, and hedging strategies.
- Oversee all finance operations (cash flow, payables/receivables, trial balance).
- Manage monthly and annual close, consolidations, and reporting.
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and 3-year strategic planning.
- Develop pricing, profitability, and cost-saving models.
- Support investment analysis.
- Improve working capital and inventory planning.
Experience:
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a senior finance executive role (Finance Director, CFO, or equivalent).
- Proven experience operating at executive level within a complex, commercial environment.
- Strong track record in financial leadership within a multi-entity or multi-site organisation.
- Experience in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment within the Food and Beverage advantageous.
- Strong systems knowledge with advanced financial reporting and ERP exposure.
- Solid understanding of treasury management, forex exposure, and hedging strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making.
Educational Requirements:
- Qualified CA(SA) is essential
- Post-qualification executive leadership experience required
- Additional commercial or leadership development qualifications will be advantageous
