Finance Controller / Senior Administrator
Role Summary
We are seeking a Finance Controller / Senior Administrator responsible for overseeing financial administration with a strong focus on debtors management, cash flow control, and automation of financial processes.
The role is operational and hands-on, ensuring that the company maintains strong cash collection discipline while improving efficiency through systems and automation.
Key Responsibilities
Debtors & Cash Flow
• Manage the full accounts receivable function
• Maintain strict debt collection procedures
• Monitor and report debtor ageing and debtor days (DSO)
• Work closely with sales teams to resolve payment delays and disputes
• Produce weekly debtor and cash flow reports for management
Systems & Automation
• Identify opportunities to automate financial and administrative processes
• Implement automated debtor reminder and collection systems
• Improve reporting through automated dashboards and financial tools
• Ensure financial systems support accurate and efficient data capture
Financial Administration
• Oversee financial administration and internal controls
• Manage customer credit limits and approvals
• Ensure accurate reconciliations across debtors and cash accounts
• Support month-end financial processes
Operational Support
• Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure financial discipline
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and reporting where required
• Maintain strong financial governance and process compliance
Key Performance Indicators
• Debtor days (DSO)
• Cash collection efficiency
• Accuracy of financial reporting
• Automation of manual finance processes
• Reduction in overdue debt
Required Skills
• Strong accounts receivable and credit control experience
• Advanced Excel and financial systems knowledge
• Experience with process automation and system improvements
• Strong attention to detail and operational discipline
• Ability to work cross-functionally with sales and operations teams
Preferred Experience
• FMCG or distribution businesses
• High transaction-volume environments
• ERP system implementation or improvement
