Role Description The purpose of the role is to provide new and existing clients with professional and relevant financial advice, planning and products (sales) that are suited to their needs and requirements. Undertake the procurement of sustainable business of a high quality, in accordance with the business targets set. Maintain and service these clients as part of a long- term relationship which builds loyalty to the brand and generates ongoing advice and sales. Undertake these activities within a compliant and ethical manner which results in the building and sustaining the Sanlam Group business and brand.

Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing clients’ financial situations, developing tailored financial and retirement plans, and recommending appropriate investment and risk solutions. The role involves conducting regular client reviews, monitoring performance against goals, and adjusting strategies as circumstances change. The Financial Advisor will also educate clients on financial concepts, ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met, and collaborate with the broader LPi BlueStar and Sanlam network to deliver high-quality service and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Financial Planning and Financial Advisory to design and implement holistic client strategies.
  • Candidates should possess sound Finance and Investments skills to analyze products, markets, and portfolios aligned with client goals.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Retirement Planning to structure sustainable income and preservation strategies for later life.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, business, or a related field, with professional certifications RE5 and 120 credits, considered an advantage.
  • Proven experience in client-facing advisory roles, strong ethical standards, and thorough knowledge of applicable financial regulations.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship-building abilities, with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
