Financial Administrator

Job Description:

The Finance department has a vacancy for an experienced, detail oriented and well- organized individual to perform the functions of a Finance Administrator. This position requires technical knowledge of accounting and business administration, a dynamic individual who is able to work in a fast paced environment, flexible to assist with a vast range of tasks and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Contribute to a culture of service excellence, which builds positive relationships and provides opportunity for feedback and exceptional service

Adhere to policies and procedures to manage costs

Maintain accurate records for all financial transactions of the business units

Capture payments within agreed timelines

Administer day to day finances of the business unit, working business processes, systems and procedures

Review and approve receipts/invoices to ensure accounting transactions are in line with legal and company financial guidelines

Perform bank reconciliations

Perform customer and supplier account reconciliations as necessary, follow up on outstanding customer receipts, resolve reconciling items or escalate them to management

Professional and prompt communication to management

Attend to any queries in a timeously and professional manner

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines

Provide administrative support

Other ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifying Attributes:

· Very strong communication skills

· Excellent time management

· Driven to provide excellent accuracy

· Understanding of legislated requirements

Capable to work under pressure without supervision

Good background experience in accounting and business administration

Must be able to effectively prioritise and switch tasks in a dynamic environment

Good record keeping and organisational skills

Proactive and eager to learn

Requirements

Diploma/Degree in a finance related field preferred

At least 3-5 years’ work experience in a similar position

Advanced computer literacy – MS Office, high proficiency in MS Excel

Experience working on of Xero advantageous

Experience of accounting in a project environment (cost accounting)

Proficient in English and Afrikaans

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: R18 000,00 – R22 000,00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

Somerset West, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Financial Asstisting: 3 years (Required)
