Full Job Description

Purpose of the job

Provides support to the Financial Controller by doing payments and reconciliations of general ledger accounts and bank accounts related to payroll transactions. These include weekly wages, tax, pension, medical aid, expense refunds etc. Liaises with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate and timeous transactions and proper record keeping. Allocate pro-rata expenses to the department for cost accounting purposes. Prepares periodic reports and information for internal and external audits or other use. Compiles contribution schedules and sends payment confirmations to providers. Handle queries related to the above. Responsible for EFT’s on daily, weekly and monthly basis. The role is for SA and BLNE countries.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

? Grade 12 (with accounting)

? 1 – 2 Years finance or payroll experience

? Accounting knowledge is required

? PC Literacy: MS Office/G-Suite (with advanced Excel/Sheets)

? Knowledge of payroll systems

? Understanding of payroll legislation (Income Tax, Employment Tax Incentives, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Sectoral Determination, PAYE, etc.) and guidelines and best practices

? Basic understanding of monthly and annual statutory payroll returns

? General understanding of provident and pension fund regulations and administration requirements

? Strong numerical ability
