A fast-growing business in the fintech and retail space is looking for a Financial Accountant to support daily finance operations and ensure accurate financial reporting. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is detail-driven, organised, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
- Process daily financial transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
- Capture and reconcile supplier invoices against internal systems.
- Assist with daily and monthly reconciliations across multiple accounts.
- Support month-end close processes and preparation of management accounts.
- Review financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Capture debtor invoices and perform debtor reconciliations.
- Follow up on outstanding debtors and resolve queries.
- Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and financial controls.
Requirements
- BCom Financial Accounting or similar degree.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with Xero is essential.
- Solid understanding of South African tax and financial controls.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English, both written and verbal.
- Experience in a retail or fintech environment is advantageous.
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
- South African citizen with a clear credit and criminal record.
