Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
- Prepare and monitor annual budgets aligned with business objectives.
- Provide financial guidance and support to management on budget-related matters.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and income statement reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate trial balances and compile monthly financial files for the Financial Director.
- Prepare and distribute monthly management accounts, including responding to departmental queries.
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT201 returns and liaise with SARS regarding payments and queries.
- Assist with annual financial statements and external audits.
- Perform the full month-end close process, including journals, bank reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and interdepartmental transactions.
- Process month-end adjustments to ensure accurate trial balances.
- Perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Manage overhead expenditure, company bank accounts, petty cash and company credit card controls.
Creditors Management
- Review creditor reconciliations and payment schedules.
- Oversee monthly payment runs.
- Authorise vendor banking amendments and ensure creditor payments are processed accurately and timeously.
Cash Management
- Process and report daily cash receipts.
- Capture monthly bank transactions into the accounting system.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile all cash equivalents.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
- Completed SAICA or SAIPA Articles will be advantageous.
- Chartered Accountant
Experience
- Minimum of 8 year’s post-articles experience (SAICA/SAIPA) will be advantageous.
- Experience with Sage One, Xero and Pilot software will be advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
