About The Organisation And

The Role

Ywaste is a social enterprise that in 17 years has grown from a family business to an operation which diverts over 1000 tons of waste from landfills every month. Ywaste focuses on effective and responsible management of food waste and conversion to various methods which reduces the contribution food waste makes to landfill proliferation. This also enables the replenishment of the soil, which in turn, leads to a better world.

Main

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Debtor Management
  • Onboarding and Financial Management of clients
  • Preparation of quotes
  • Issuing of invoices.
  • Issuing of statements.
  • Bank account reconciliations.
  • Credit Control and Management of Debtor days
  • Creditor management
  • Onboarding and Financial Management of suppliers
  • Preparation of Supplier Purchase Orders
  • Checking and capture of Supplier Invoices
  • Preparation of Supplier payment reports
  • Payment allocations.
  • Reporting
  • Preparation of and report on cash flow statement,
  • Preparation of Monthly Trial Balance
  • Forwarding relevant information to accountant for weekly reporting
  • Weekly accounting reports to Finance Officer.
  • General administration
  • Provide general administrative support as and when required.
  • Supervision of Financial document filing
  • Responsible for all Financial Record Keeping.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Work experience and industry exposure
  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role with a thorough working knowledge of Sage or a related accounting package.
  • Finance-related degree or diploma is preferable.
  • Experience working with multiple Debtors and Creditors is an advantage.
  • Experience of working in the Financial / Accounting Divisions of Retail Companies is an advantage
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Able to communicate telephonically in an efficient manner.
  • A friendly and accessible individual able to manage difficult situations and personalities in a calm and rational manner.
  • Strong inter-personal skills with the ability to respond to queries and deal with complaints.
  • Excellent Administration and Organisational Skills
  • Highly organised and efficient individual who can multitask and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
  • Systems oriented with excellent attention to detail.
  • A proactive team player who is contribution-focussed.
  • A flexible individual who is able to work autonomously while maintaining open channels of communication with a team.
  • A logical thinker comfortable working in an unstructured environment and able to work well across cross-functional teams.

  • A numerate individual with a thorough understanding of all aspects of bookkeeping.

  • Driver’s licence and own transport is desirable.
